On Monday 6th July Yorkshire in Bloom judges Bridget Conner and Gemma Kelmanson re visited Pocklington for their summer judging in the town section of the competition.  They visited Burnby Hall Gardens, the Memorial Gardens, the town centre, Pocklington Community School, the allotments and Higgins the hairdresser in Garths End.  The results will be announced at the Yorkshire in Bloom awards ceremony to be held at York Racecourse on 8th September 2015.

Floral displays have now all been planted and we are busy keeping them all watered!

On Sunday 28th June the In Bloom committee had a stall at Burnby Hall Gardens where a specialist plant fair was being held.  Members John and Una Barber and Diane Wood had propogated a wide variety of plants which were sold to raise money for further floral displays in the town.  Additionally Diane had produced jars of home made jam which have been sold in recent weeks.  Altogether almost £300 was raised from the sale of plants and jam.  A few jars of jam are still available from the Council Office.
