Pocklington needs you
Pocklington Town Council are searching for someone to help with the administration of the web-site for the Town.
Tony Marron, Pocklington Town Councillor and Treasurer of The Promote Pocklington Forum said "The Town Council and Promote Pocklington and other groups within the Town are very keen to help the Town to get more visitors and tourists. This helps local businesses to keep the Town thriving and lots of people work on a voluntary and unpaid basis to do just that. But we do not have enough man power and the people that are helping are very stretched and don't have more free time to give."
"We need someone to come forward to help us keep the information on the Town's web site about events and other information current and up to date. This is not a technological position, computer skills are not essential and is not for a geek, its more a marketing and admin position. We need someone to be proactive and who can devote perhaps 3 to 4 hours a week initially to get the information up to date and then perhaps this would come down to 3 to 4 hours a month to keep it current. Although not a paid position legitimate expenses will be paid." he went on to say.
Promote Pocklington Forum meet every month and anybody is invited to attend and join in to help promote the Town. Pocklington Town Council have a Marketing and Develeopment Committee that meets every 3 months and this meeting, like all council meetings, is also open to the public.
"Everybody that does help to promote the Town works very hard and it can be very enjoyable and satisfying", said Tony Marron " and I would urge anybody who can help to contact Richard Wood, Pocklington Town Clerk, on 01759 304 851 or pop in to see him at The Council Offices on George Street or come along to one of the meetings (details from Richard Wood)."
