On Sunday 27th November 2011 a Continental Market was held in Pocklington Market Place where a range of continental foods and crafts were on sale.  Due to the stormy weather overnight there were a reduced number of stallholders but locals came out in their 100's to browse and buy.  The Town Mayor Councillor Graham Perry said "Whilst the number of stalls was disappointing local shops who opened enjoyed a good trade.  It is something the council will consider again perhaps in the spring".
