BTCV workers start on the footpath at West Green
Pocklington Town Council has been succesful in obtaining £9,000  from the Big Lottery Fund as part of the Breathing Spaces initiative.  The money is to provide a footpath, fencing and tree and bush planting together with the installation of bird boxes in this beautiful area of the town.  The aim of this refurbishment is to get more people to use it. One of the main campaigners for the work was the recently retired Mayor June Malcolm who was thrilled with the result.  Already the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers have plans to start some of the work in July.  The planting scheme has been drawn up by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and this will take place in the autumn.
