Doug Cook from St Helens Close, Pocklington has been declared the winner of the Pocklington in Bloom front garden competition and was awarded a wooden rosebowl which has been made by one of the 'In Bloom' members Peter Green.  All the gardens entered into the competition were judged last week by 'In Bloom'  members who considered Doug's garden as being very colourful and distinctive with all year round interest.

Other highly commended entries include gardens in Barmby Road, Chapmangate, The Oval, Strother Close and Rowan Court.  The winners each received a certificate from the Town Mayor Richard Bryon at the Council meeting on 9th August 2007.
