Small grants awards

On Thursday 9th February 2006 The Mayor of Pocklington, Councillor Jo Green, presented cheques to the following groups who had successfully applied for grants from the Town Council.  Every year the council allocates £1,000 to be given to groups and charities within the town.  Although this years awards are now complete any group carrying out work within Pocklington can apply to the Town Council at their offices at 23 Railway Street Pocklington YO42 2QU.  These requests will be considered during the summer of 2006.

Awards were given to Woldgate Wildcats a majorette and cheerleading squad, Pocklington over 60's club who meet weekly at the Youth Club, Stewart's Burnby Hall Gardens Trust for a new school project, Pocklington Country dancers to assist with their twinning visits, Pocklington Canal Amenities Society for their ongoing work on restoration of the canal and Friends of Pocklington Junior School to buy new kit for their football team.
