Following the felling of four mature horse chesnut trees on West Green, the public green space, due to disease, Pocklington School have donated six trees to replace them. The trees are sweet chestnuts, silver birch and mountain ash. They form part of the School's commitment to plant 500 trees to commemorate their 500th anniversary in 2014. The photograph shows Paul Wright, the school grounds manager, assisting Arthur Woodcock the handyman from Pocklington Council and John Barber from Pocklington in Bloom to plant the trees.
