The water lillies display

As part of the 'Yorkshire in Bloom' initiative Pocklington has exhibited a planted container at the Autumn Flower Show at Harrogate.  Along with four other villages and towns they have staged individual displays dipicting a 'Riot of Colour' .  Pocklington's includes water lillies from Burnby Hall Gardens and a metalwork support  made by Mike Stubbins a local blacksmith showing the design of a glider (To mark  the Wolds Gliding Club). The containers can be found in the food hall and are worth a visit.  The show starts on Friday 18th September 2009 until Sunday 20th September.

STOP PRESS:  The Pocklington display was awarded a Silver- Gilt at the judging on Friday morning.
