Saturday 23rd June 2007 saw the official opening of the totally refurbished Stewart Museum at Burnby Hall Gardens. This work has been largely funded by  the Heritage Lottery fund .Despite rain earlier in the day the skys cleared and the sun shone for Mrs Margaret Revell (Major Stewart's Niece) to declare the museum open.  During the evening music was provided by the Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass Band. The museum forms a unique insight into Major Stewart's  extensive travels bringing the many and varied artifacts into a modern display.  The museum is open daily from 1000hrs to 1800hrs.  Further details can be obtained from the Gardens on 01759 307125 or their web-site on www.burnbyhallgardens.com
