Primrose Wood

Negotiations are at an advanced stage for Pocklington Town Council to take over the lease of Primrose Wood (off Burnby Lane) Pocklington from the Woodland Trust.  who presently have a long term lease with the Burnby Hall Gardens.  The aim of the council in taking over the woods is to encourage more community use and ensure it is developed in a sustainable way.  A tree planting session is being organised on Saturday 5th December 2009 when volunteers are being asked to help plant a selection of indiginous trees.  ALL  ARE WELCOME.  People should meet at the Burnby Lane entrance to the woods at 10am.  We have entered the Woodland Trusts competition to see if we can establish a new record for the number of trees planted in an hour!  A storyteller has been booked with other entertainment available.
