Local news: Kampala Childrens Centre Uganda perform a Rythms of Life dance concert at Pocklington Arts Centre
On the evening of Thursday 9th December 2011 a visiting dance group from the Kampala Children's Centre performed to a near capacity audience at Pocklington Arts Centre. The performance was one of many the group have performed since arriving in Britain in September. All the youngsters are orphaned being aged between 8 and 14years. Their youthful enthusiasm and happiness captivated the audience to such an extent that the Lord Lieutenant of the County, Mrs Cunliffe-Lister , the Chairman of the East Riding Council, Councillor Kay West, joined their host Town Mayor Councillor Graham Perry on stage to dance with the youngsters at the end of the performance. It was truly a memorable evening.
