In Bloom Autumn Planting Started

November has seen the start of the winter planting of flower beds in Pocklington.  It was with some regret that we started stripping out the summer bedding this week which had looked so well.  The photograph shows Ken Squirrell a member of the 'In Bloom' committee putting the finishing touches to the round bed in All Saints churchyard.  The bed has been planted with blue and white pansies which have been interplanted with red dwarf Praestans Fusilier tulips.  It is hoped these will be in full bloom when the Yorkshire in Bloom judges next visit in April 2007.  The next meeting of the 'In Bloom' committee takes place at the Old Courthouse George Street Pocklington at 7pm on Monday 27th November 2006 to which everyone is welcome.
