On Saturday 31st October 2009 Pocklington in Bloom members began planting 2,000 daffodil bulbs as part of the towns initiative to become known as a floral town. They were ably assisted by Gordon Kay who using his plough and the Greengrass Recycling vintage tractor enabled over 1,200 bulbsto be planted in just over an hour. The rest of the bulbs are to be planted by offenders doing community service.
