On Friday 6th March 2009 the roadways on The Mile Allotments were repaired in preparation to a bid by a newly formed Allotment Society to take over the running of the allotments from the local council.

Allotment holders rallied round to prepare the roadways and to lay a new surface of road plannings.  Here allotment holders are photographed busy at work.
