A resident from The Mile presents a petition

On Thursday 1 February 2007 the Transport, Lighting and Road Safety Committee of Pocklington Town Council were presented with a 100 signature petition urging that traffic calming measures be adopted on The Mile in an effort to curb the speed of vehicles entering the town.  The petition by a resident from The Mile who complained of vehicles exceeding the 30 mph speed limit especially at school starting and leaving times.  The Committee promised to forward the petition to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council for their consideration.

Later in the same meeting Councillors agreed that the flashing speed warning signs were very useful and are to cost the siting of them on all the main entries into the town.
